Education can present opportunities for those looking to start a new career or change specialty within their current occupation. This section outlines some major sources of education and training required to enter many occupations

Online colleges and universities offer classes over the Internet or through Open University concepts such as University Wawasan, Open University Malaysia or the various off-campus programmes offered by Malaysian universities.  These cover most of the same material as their traditional classroom counterparts. Offering classes on the Internet provides a great deal of flexibility to students, allowing many who work, travel frequently, or lack the ability or means to attend a traditional university to earn a degree from an accredited institution.

A prospective student should talk to a guidance counselor or advisor before deciding to enroll in an online college or university. Additionally, the prospective student should check the college or university’s accreditation with the Lembaga Akreditasi Malaysia (LAN).
